I love music!

I enjoy many kinds of music. Most recently I bought the latest by Ben Folds, Butthole Surfers, Creed, Staind, Train, and Weezer.

I go through phases with music. Right now, I am in a Creed phase. I am always in a Pearl Jam phase. Same goes for R.E.M.

With my new CD writer, I created some compilation music CDs. The first was an R.E.M. mix. The second was a Pearl Jam mix.

Then, I made my "Nostalgia Mix", sorted by recording date, including: Elvis Costello, U2, Squeeze, Yaz, INXS, The Police, Warren Zevon, The Smiths, R.E.M., BoDeans, George Michael, Depeche Mode, Morrissey, Jesus and Mary Chain, Indigo Girls, The Cure, Nine Inch Nails, Jesus Jones, Violent Femmes, and Smithereens.

My next compilation was Party Mix 2001, including the same artists, but upbeat songs, plus: Rolling Stones, Talking Heads, Greatful Dead, Joe Jackson, B-52s, Jimmy Buffet, The Who, Modern English, and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

I plan on making sequels to both to include more recent artists, such as 10,000 Maniacs, Nirvana, Jane's Addiction, Garbage, Green Day, Creed, Ben Folds Five, Radiohead, Bush, and, of course, R.E.M. and Pearl Jam.

When I am not in a pop music mood, I usually go with a classic crooner, such as Sinatra, Bennett, or Crosby; or musical theatre, such as Company, Hair, or a Barbara Streisand Broadway album; or a classical composer, such as Mozart, Beethoven, or Wagner.

I also love Mandy Patinkin's work, but he is too difficult to pigeon hole, hence, I mention him separately. He is perhaps the most talented man in America. He does it all!

Then, there are my international tastes, including Italian (Bocelli), Irish (Riverdance), traditional Scottish (Carl Peterson), and traditional Southern music.
