The Coat of Arms of the United Grand Lodge of Queensland is a shield with quaterlings, surmounted by a crest with a scroll bearing a motto underlying it. The Shield (escutcheon) was not designed strictly in accordance with College of Heralds principles.  It was done solely with Masonic requirements by RWBro FJ Wilkes PAGM of North Australian Lodge.  Using the language of heraldry, the escutcheon or shield may be described as follows, however it must be remembered that this description is given as of a shield held in hand with the narrator facing the audience.
The "dexter chief" or upper right quater of the "field" of the shield has a light blue background with a white five pointed star centered therein, symbolising the Five Points of Fellowship.
The "sinister chief" or upper left quater of the "field" of the shield has an azure blue background with the Three Great Lights of Freemasonry.  (Volume of the Sacred Law, Square and Compasses) centred within, symbolising the teachings of Freemasonary, the Fatherhood of God and the Brotherhood of man.
The 'dexter" base" or right lower quater of the "field" of the shield has an azure blue background.  A Cornucopia emitting corn is centred within it, symbolising Freemasonry's hope that the Grand Architect of the Universe will bless its members with Abundance of the Necessaries and
Comforts of Life.

The "sinister base" or lower left quater of the "field" of the shield has a light blue background with a Dove Volant (flying) holding an Olive branch in it's beak centred therein, symbolising that Freemasonry and it's Members desire to live in Peace, Love and Harmony with all Mankind.  The "dexter" or right hand field (or side), of the shield is separated 'party per pale" or perpendicularly, from the "sinister" or left hand field by the Tyler's sword.  This symbolises the necessity of guarding Freemasonry against all "Cowens and Eavesdroppers"  The "dexter and sinister chiefs" or upper quaters are separated "party per fesse", or horizontally, from the "dexter and sinister bases", or lower quaters, by Inner Guards Poniards, symbolising that a Freemason's Conscience should ever remind him of his duty of Secrecy.

The three sharp implements also form the symbolic Cross of Sacrifice.  The ear of corn and sprig of acacia surrounding and intertwining the horns of the shield are symbolic of the Blessing of Morality and Virtue in Plenty and of the Immortality of the Soul.
The Latin motto on the ribbon script under the shield Is "Recte et Fideliter" which translated into English means "Right and Faithful" thus symbolising that the United Grand Lodge of Queensland believes in Practising and Teaching all that is right and that it will ever be faithful to The Grand Architect of the Universe.  The "All Seeing Eye' in the iridescent triangle in the crest over the middle top of the shield, is symbolic of the Overall ever Presence of TGAOTU.  It is surrounded by a laurel wreath, symbolic of Reward to those who act right and remain ever faithful.
Between the crest and the shield is written "Founded in 1921".  This is the year that the United.  Grand Lodge of Queensland was founded.  The Complete Coat of Arms of the United Grand Lodge of Queensland may be seen on the Standard of Grand Lodge which, together with the standard of the Grand Master is carried by the Grand Standard Bearer in Grand Lodge ceremonials before the Most 'Worshipful Grand Master.  A replica of it is placed above the Grand Master's throne in the Grand Hall in the Masonic Memorial Temple, Ann Street.  On the Standard and on the replica over the Throne, the Light blue and Azure blue colours of the backgrounds of the quaters of the shield symbolise Freemasonry universal which is as widespread as the Blue Heavens.
