TEFL Certification

The TEFL certification course at Dunham Institute meets all international standards of quality and regulation. The course offers 4 weeks of intense, complete, and hands-on training, which total over 120 hours. With an emphasis on the practicum aspect of the course, all teachers graduate with over 15 hours of actual teaching practice.

To travel the world and make a living, the best way to do it is Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL). There is a large job market for English teachers the world over and as a TEFL certified teacher you will always be able to find a job. Is it enough that you are a native English speaker? No, not at all. Just because you speak English doesn�t mean you can teach English as a Foreign language. The more prepared you are for a teaching English, the more enjoyable your experience will be.

Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL) requires no knowledge of the language of the country of where you are living, so the strategies of communication are ones that are unique in teaching world. Getting a TEFL certificate will not only prepare you as a teacher to non-English speakers, but will provide you with communications skills applicable to every day life.

It is always beneficial, whatever subject you study, to do it in small groups. Here at Dunham Institute we accept maximum 6 candidates per session. This allows us to almost custom make the TEFL course for you. What does that mean? If you need extra work on a certain aspect of the TEFL course, we can easily accommodate your needs without affecting other students. We are able to make time and teach you the best way you learn.

Because we have small TEFL groups, an average of 3 candidates per session, you have the unique opportunity to get over 30 hours of teaching practice per session. You will be evaluated on 6-10, but you are welcome to teach as much as you can (the fewer candidates we have the more hours you get to teach).

30 hours possible of teaching practice.

Free home stay with a local family for the duration of the course. The home stays are all within walking distance of Dunham Institute and you will enjoy the privacy of your own room and bathroom, and in most cases maid service. Meals are not included.

Courses available every 4 weeks.

Airport and bus station pick-up available to all candidates free of charge.

The TEFL course will provide you with experience teaching adults, adolescents, as well as primary aged children.

The 4 week course has a cost of $1300.00 USD. This fee includes handouts, handbook, etc. In the tuition is also included the cost of housing with a local family. You do not pay extra for housing.

Housing:

You will be housed within walking distance of Dunham Institute with a local family. You will have your own room and bathroom, and in most cases maid service. The housing does not include meals, but you have full use of the family kitchen.
