This time we set off with heavy hearts because we had heard the plants were not growing too well. The plan was to start over after putting in more organic matter.

There was a nice surprise waiting for us. Although far from sufficient, rice was growing. In foreign countries, unexpected things do happen as a result of miscommunication, but this time we were really astonished to see the plants green, since we had imagined them to have withered completely.

After the rice had begun to turn yellow, I had suggested to spray around newly activated EM. Since around July 10th Mr. Ismail had stuck to that advice, and there was some improvement. That time, my mind was all into what to do next, and had totally forgotten to check the present situation.

It was decided to put in the organic matter and EM only to the parts of the experimental field not doing so well. Now our aim is to get some crop.
