Chapter Activities

 

Playgroups:  We meet with our children on a weekly basis at members’ homes during the school year and at local parks throughout the summer.  We also encourage members' to organize impromptu playgroups for the little ones.

 

Topic Meetings:  On the third Monday of each month we meet in the large tower located at 165 S. Union, Lakewood) for our monthly chapter meeting/topic night.  The topics are chosen by our members and led by our members or a guest speaker.  The meetings focus on mothers’ needs, issues, and interests.  Our meeting room is located in the first conference room around the back of the building.

 

Evening Social Events:  We rely on members to sign up to host the following periodic social functions:

Nibble Night:	Enjoy a night out! The volunteer hostess provides the drinks and dessert and each member brings an appetizer to munch.
Ladies' Night Out:	Members may meet at a local pub, movie theater, or restaurant to get away from it all.
Dads' Poker Night:	Dads' need a night out too. Periodically dads' meet to have a good time and collect eachothers' paychecks all in fun.
Bunco:	An easy dice game that requires no expertise. It's just a way to get together and enjoy eachothers' company. The Hostess provides the beverages and dessert and members' bring $5 and provide appetizers to munch on.
Knitting Night:	Every last Wednesday of the month, beginning, intermediate, and advanced knitters get together to teach eachother knitting techniques, exchange patterns and to chat about knitting.
Couples' Night:	Get a babysitter so that you may attend a night out with other couples in the group. Events could include dinner, tours, bowling, movie nights, and anything else that our talented planners have prepared.

Family Parties:  Our annual Summer picnic, Easter, Halloween and Christmas parties are always a favorite for the kids and the Dads look forward to barbecuing at the summer picnic.

 

Book Club:  Book club meets on the first Wednesday night of the month for an evening of adult discussion about a book we’ve all decided on in advance.

 

Kid’s Field Trips:  We meet during the day, once a month with our children for a field trip to various places around town.

 

Fitness Group:  For the more adventurous types, members meet periodically to run, bike, or stroll to stay fit! Members also keep eachother informed of monthly races (running, triathlon, etc.) and ask for/give eachother training advice.
