Dan Hege		"If music be the food of love, play on!"	Daniel Hege graduated from Bethel College in North Newton, Kansas in 1987 with majors in music and history, then attended the University of Utah in Salt Lake City where he graduated in 1990 with a masters degree in orchestral conducting. He won a national conducting competition in Los Angeles that same year and became the music director of the Young Musicians Foundation Debut Orchestra in Los Angeles from 1990-93. During that three year stint, he became the assistant conductor of the Pacific Symphony Orchestra in Orange County, and the Director of Instrumental Music for the Orange County High School of the Arts. In the summers of 1992 and 1993, he was the principal conductor of Disney's Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra, and performances were broadcast on the Disney Channel to over 50 million viewers. From 1993-95 he lived in Chicago where he was the music director of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra and Encore Chamber Orchestra, and also served on the faculties of Roosevelt University and Illinois Wesleyan University. In 1995 he married Katarina Oladottir, a violinist, and they moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where he served as Associate Conductor of the Kansas City Symphony and Katarina played in the orchestra. From 1996-2000, they lived in Baltimore, where Daniel was the resident conductor of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and Katarina played in the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra and with Baltimore Opera. Arianna, their daughter, was born in 1997, and their second daughter, Sofia, was born in 2001, in Syracuse, New York, where they currently live. Daniel has been the music director of the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra since 1999, and is currently in his fourth season with the orchestra. He guest conducts about ten weeks a year with various orchestras throughout the U.S. Katarina is busy with the children and will resume violin soon.	Lives In: Email: danscorp@msn.com
