Our Exhibition at the Eagle Foundry was a complete success in regards to attendence levels, the number of
people who voted for their favourite artwork and the number of people who bought raffles tickets.
It was clear that the majority of people attended the exhibition around the time it was officially opened by
Gawler Mayor, Tony Piccolo. (4pm Saturday). This was great from our point of view. With nearly one hundred people present, it certainly demonstrated to the mayor that our
group is appropriately named and serious in its objectives.
The Eagle Foundry proved to be an excellent venue, with the machine room at the rear of the foundry acting as
the exhibition space. The rustic, workshop interior along with all manor of tools and other items stored along the walls easily complemented the variety of art and craft works
on display.
Tea, coffee, wine and an assortment of finger foods were all available over the two days making it easier to
spend extra time enjoying the atmosphere and the creativity of all the participating artists.
ArtsAction would like to thank those members who made the exhibition possible including all the exhibiting
artists, those who helped set up the venue, those who provided the food and everyone who helped promote the exhibition. We'd like to thank all our sponsors including, Totally
Framed, Kornacraft, Coles Supermarkets, The Gawler Arms and most importantly The Eagle Foundry.
Our thanks goes to everyone who bought a raffle ticket or voted in our People's Choice award (178 votes in all.
Incidently the award was won by Judy Furgurson for her work entitled 'Annie').
Finally we would like to thank everyone who attendend the exhibition.
