Thorp T-18
Jim's T-18

From the March 2000 Newsletter:

My airplane is a Thorp T-18, built by Grover Rahiser of Ocala, Florida.  It took Grover 12 years to build - ending with the first test flight (flown by Vernon Thorp) on 8 June 1988.  I bought it on 25 September 1999.  It currently has 168hrs TT.   It has an O-320 and wood prop. At 3K feet, 2350 rpm, I get 155 mph.  The avionics are simple with one radio and one VOR. I'm in the market for a hand-held GPS.  It is based at Yellow River airport in Holt where I fly any fair-weather weekend I'm in town.   Jim Grahn
