FAMILY: Our definition of "Family" is, spouses, family members, and friends of ex-offenders. In a recent e-mail from an offender's spouse, "Hi, I am the Secondarily Sentenced Spouse of _____(offender's name)..." All those who remain close to an offender feel that way due to the effects of registration and public disclosure of the offender.
*** Special Report: "Child Abuse" ***
Recently we came across a series of articles, by Ray Thomas "AKA Bull Cutter," addressing child abuse and Child Protective Agencies. His definition of child abuse begins with abusive acts less than criminal, but yet he crosses over covering criminal acts occasionally.
We are including them here, in "Helpful Hints," because he makes many good points even though his tone and point of view is, strong and leftish.
We begin with two of his earlier articles so you get a feel of where he is coming from. Serial Power Grabbers he defines these folks as people who create hysteria as a ploy. Do not misunderstand us, we are not implying, there isn't a child abuse problem. As he explains these are folks who take a problem, and then blow it out of proportion, for what may amount to private reasons rather than to solve the initial problem. In his second article Protecting Your Children he reminds how easy it is for our children to be "snatched up" by the state and placed into the state's "Foster Care" system.
In his four articles, he speaks to those falsely accused of child abuse; Manual for the Falsely Accused - Part I. Yes, he says "if you are guilty, stop reading now," however, in "Helpful Hints" we raise his articles, for our readers: Families of Sex Offenders with Children. Families with a sex offender living at home, could easily be targeted by a resentful community member, making unsubstantiated claims to a child protection agency. Their subtle goal being to force the family out of their neighborhood; another form of subtle vigilantism! Manual for the Falsely Accused - Part II and Manual for the Falsely Accused Part III and Manual for the Falsely Accused Part IV. These are exceptionally good articles containing good advise on handling a state agency intervention.
