Band Awards
Each Spring the Band Boosters and Farwell Area Schools
hosts an awards assembly for the band students in the high school.
The format of this awards ceremony has been any thing from an ice
cream social to a formal banquet. In any case, the intention is to
give honor and recoginition where it belongs, to the students.
There are many different awards that are given out and below you
will find a list of those awards.
AWARD ELIGIBILITY Awards are based upon the following
qualities:
1. Loyalty dependability, spirit and outstanding contributions
to the Eagle Band Program
2. Outstanding dedication to the band
3. Positive leadership in section rehearsals, band activities and
all areas of the program
4. Consistent and thorough preparation of concert and contest
music
5. Faithful attendance at special and section rehearsals
6. Usually, a student may only receive one of these awards each
year.
AWARDS:
Freshman: Certificate
Sophomores: Letter
Juniors: Instrument Pin
Seniors: Senior Plaques
Outstanding Awards in Various areas of service to the band are
also usually awarded
John Phillip Sousa Award
Louis Armstrong Award (Jazz I)
Woody Herman Award (Jazz II)
Farwell Womens Club Arion Award
