Use and Care of Music

- Do not fold, tear or otherwise mutilate music.
- Absence from school does not relieve students of the
responsibility to have music brought to the rehearsal or
performance.
- Use only pencil when marking music. Be neat when marking
music, and make only those marks that are absolutely necessary.
Marks should be erased before music is turned.
- Get in the habit of numbering all measures of music in your
folder.
- Students will be held financially responsible for music that
is not cared for properly.
- Music which is not turned in one day after it is taken up
is considered lost and will be paid for by the student.
- Students may be subject to disciplinary measures in
addition to their financially responsibility.
- Music and folders will be provided free to students in band.
The folder should last a semester. If a replacement is required
before the end of the semester, a replacement may be purchased for
a fifty cent fee.
- Each student will be assigned a slot in a music folio
cabinet.
- Folders will be assigned according to parts and
instrumentation. Each folder will be assigned a number that
corresponds to a slot in a music folio cabinet.
- All - folders must be clearly marked with that number, your
name and instrument.
- Personally owned music should not be kept in the music folio
cabinet.
- Do not put folders and/ or music in your instrument case.
- Folders should be kept in the assigned slot during the day.
Folders and/ or music are not to be stored in the instrument
storage room.
- Folders or music left out after rehearsal will be picked up
and the student will move down one chair and lose 10 points on
class participation grade.
- Do not place stickers or other decorations on school-owned
music folders.
