Trek America is a company which arranges tours for 18 - 38 year olds to North America for small groups no bigger than 13 people. The whole Trek America programme revolves around the simple philosophy: "small is beautiful".

Read on to see what happened when 14 strangers got together and spent a week travelling in the North East of America. After travelling more than 1600 miles we were no longer strangers but fast becoming friends.

It was the first time I had ever travelled alone so I was a little nervous but as it turned out there was nothing to be nervous about - we all got on really well together.
