Water Relaxation: Focus on relieving chronic, limiting pain through slow movement through the water, deep breathing, stretching and meditation techniques.
Arthritis Exercise: Emphasis on improving or maintaining range of motion throughout the body. This is a good entry level class for beginners as well as those with Arthritis or similar conditions. The slow, steady moves and the absence of the use of floatation make it the ideal class for the beginner.
Post-Stroke: This class is designed to help clients recovering from a stroke or similar neurological deficits. The emphasis is on regaining some level of mobility, and class includes walking in the water, use of various floatation equipment for maintaing balance, strengthening exercises and relaxation breathing techniques.
Arthritis Extra: A transitional level class between the regular arthritis program and more vigorous classes on the schedule. The same emphasis as the Arthritis program, but with the addition of some endurance exercises and the use of flotation equipment.
Water Exercise: A beginning level aerobic class with 10 minutes of cardiovascular exercises. The emphasis is on developing cardiovascular fitness, range of motion and flexibility through shallow and deep water exercises.
Healthy Back: A class designed to use the properties of water to reduce the effects of gravity on the spine, strengthen abdominal and back musculature. Special emphasis is placed on postural awareness and positioning. This class combines shallow and deep water exercises, cardiovascular exercises, strengthening and stretching for a total body workout.
Aerobics I: A low-impact, shallow water workout (15-20 minutes of cardiovascular activity) including warm-up, aerobic activity, strengthening, and stretching. Emphasis on maintining fitness and good cardiovascular conditioning.
Aerobics II: Low-impact, shallow water workout 20-25 minutes of cardiovascular activity including warm-up, aerobics, strengthening and stretching. This class is slightly more advanced than the Aerobics I class.
Instructed Aquajogging: A buoyancy assisted, deep water exercise class using flotation. This non-impact exercise class is recommended for people who want aerobic exercise but cannot tolerate even the low impact of shallow water exercise. The intensity level is variable to meet a wide variety of individual needs.
Ai Chi: The Ai Chi program is dsigned to encourage relaxation and stress reduction. It is useful for pain management, prenatal, Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Post-Stroke and Post-Masectomy, to name a few. Ai Chi - Flowing Aquatic Energy - uses breathing techniques with a set of specific moves to help participants achieve relaxation and at the same time, see cardiovascular benefits and increased range of motion. The repetition of the specific moves helps participants focus on what they are doing and let go of the world and that encourages relaxation for the body and the mind.
