Welcome to our Group Committee

The Group Committee is the organization that is responsible for running a Scout Group. Responsibilities of the Group Committee include:

• 'hire' volunteer leaders
• register all youth and Leaders annually
• ensure compliance with policies & procedures of both Scouts Canada and our Sponsor
• coordinate Scouting fund raising
• hold regular Group Committee meetings
• maintain financial accountability for the funds they handle
• report monthly to Scouts Canada and periodically to the Sponsor

History of the Group

The Easthill Scout Group formed in 1996 due in large part to the work of Ken Pepin (currently one of our cub leaders.) It all began with a Beaver Colony, with the Cub Pack starting two years later in 1998.

Currently we have 13 Beavers and 12 Cubs enrolled in the respective sections of our group.

Our Sponsor

Each Scout Group must have its own Sponsor. The Easthill Scout Group is very pleased to be sponsored by the owners of the Easthill Community itself. The Easthill Community are the owners of Strata NW-888, a townhouse development on the west side of Port Moody, situated below College Park, and above the Barnet Highway. Sponsorship means...

A representative of our sponsor participates in the running of the group. Our representative from our sponsor, Debbie Gerrebos, is a strata council member, and a member of the Group Committee.
