Directions/Location -
Here is an overview of Hull. Boothferry Park is situated on Boothferry Road (The A63), in West Hull. If you look just above the Humber Bridge, you can see the Anlaby district. Boothferry Park is just to the right of there.
Here is a closer shot of the ground and the immediate surrounding areas. Boothferry Road runs in from the left and carries on to the roundabout, where it joins Anlaby Road. Anlaby Road then continues to the Town Centre.
At the front of the Away End (Boothferry Road) is a large car park, but space will be limited so your best bet is Francis Askew Primary School which charges for parking but only a small fee.
The Away End - The North Stand Terrace houses away supporters at Boothferry Park. It is uncovered (except for a small overhang at the back), and has a capacity of 1,500. Entrance to the stand is by the North-East corner of the ground, which is found at the front left of the car park. (pictured below.) Please note Hull City supporters enter the East Stand next to the North Stand entrance and trouble has been known for high profile games but there is always a large police prescence and if you don't look for trouble you won't find it.
Ticket Prices are as follows: Adults £12, Concessions £6, Children (under 16) £6.
The entrance to the North Stand.
The rest of the ground - To your left will be the East Stand, a covered terrace known as "The Kempton." It holds around 1,800 supporters but is not fully open and does not run the full length of the pitch. City's noisiest fans are found here. On your right is the West Stand, also at the far end including the Family Enclosure. The West Stand is all seater apart from a small terrace infront of it, known as "The Well." Opposite you will be the awesome by Third Division standards South Stand. It is a two tier stand, with a terrace on the lower tier and seats on the upper tier. It is known as "Bunkers."
Programmes - Programmes are sold all around the ground, and cost £2.00
Pubs - The Silver Cod and The Malt Shovel are situated down Anlaby Road, fairly near the ground, and The Three Tuns is on Boothferry Road, about a minute from the ground. Five Ways is also on Boothferry Road but is a good 10 minute walk away.
Silver Cod should definitely be avoided by Away Fans due to it's nature, and bear in mind the Malt Shovel is only across the road from it. Three Tuns should be ok providing you dont make a scene of yourself, but also should be avoided for big games and local derbies. Fiveways is the best bet for Away supporters. If you look at the map above, the pub is found just off the left, as Boothferry Road and Askew Avenue meet at a roundabout.
Food - There is a food stall at the right of the North Stand inside the ground. Outside, there are a number of chip shops/takeaways down Anlaby Road within a close range of Boothferry Park. If you decide to go to the town centre there are again reataurants takeaways etc.
Other/Miscellaneous - The ground holds around 14,000. No away seating is available at Boothferry Park. Last season's average attendance for league games was 6684. The flodlights are huge, so you will definitely spot the ground from a long way off! |
