What Was Happening...
Tuesday 16th January - Hull City 0 Blackpool 1 - Before Tuesday's debacle, our last home League defeat.  An incredible turnaround followed - Off the field problems became public and the team went on a fantastic run, only losing 2 more games and earning a play off spot. Can the latter be repeated this time around?

Saturday 15th January - Lincoln City 2 Hull City 1
- In what seems now to be a yearly ritual, we lost at Lincoln. In scenes reminiscant of our defeat there this season, we fell 2 goals behind only to stage a late fight-back. David Brown pulled a goal back with a header and the last 10 minutes were blitzkrieg, as City bombarded the Imps goal, but to no avail. We still haven't won there since 1996...

Saturday 9th January - Hull City 1 Rotherham United 0 - It was in many's opinion the day the revival started. A 35th minute goal from loanee Mark Bonner in his only appearance for the Tigers was enough to earn a victory which kick-started the famous Great Escape. A 4-0 win at home to Hartlepool followed, and from there onwards, City went on a terriffic run, culminating in survival. Bonner is still at Cardiff today.
The Terry Dolan Award For Incompetence
Number 5. - Jason Harris -
City signed 7 players before the start of the 1999/2000 season. Around half of them turned out to be poor buys. But apart from Jamie Wood, none matched Jason Harris. Being the only one of the 7 we payed for, there were high hopes on Jase's shoulders. However, save for 2 goal braces against Brighton and Carlisle, he flattered to deceive, and eventually was released at the end of the 2001/2002 term. After spending a couple of months at Southend, he was offloaded to Harrogate Town, and still resides there.

E
ast Stand - Affectionally known as "Kempton", the East Stand currently houses around 2,000 of City's most vocal supporters. It was originally meant to be a two-tier stand - The 4 pillars were to hold the temporary roof while the building work was completed, but the plans were scrapped and the stand remains in it's original form to this day.

13/4/02 - ERSC Final
The East Riding Senior Cup final between North Ferriby (who dumped us out 5-2, you may remember) and Bridlington Town has been confirmed to be held at Boothferry Park on Tuesday April 23. Kick-Off is at 7pm.

12/4/02 - New Kit Revealed

City's home kit for next season has been revealed on the Official Site. The players will wear it for the first time on the final day of the season against Lincoln, and it goes on sale shortly. Details can be found
here. Pre-Orders are now being taken on Tiger Leisure. Meanwhile, there is still chance to vote for your choice of away kit, again on the Official Site.

10/4/02 - Rochdale 3 Hull City 2

City yet again lost away from home, but put in a much improved performance, losing 3-2 at Spotland. Lawrie Dudfield twice put us ahead before the break, only for the home side to hit back and seal victory in the second half with goals from the impressive Patrick McCourt and Kevin Townson. You can read Jan's thoughts on the game
here. Click here for Video Highlights, courtesy of the Official Rochdale site.

9/4/02 - News Round-Up

In a statement made on the Official Site, Adam Pearson has put supporters in the clear on the terms of Jan Molby's contract with the club. To read the statement in full, click
here. Pearson also announced that he would be allowing children under 16 free access to terracing for the final home game of the season against Lincoln, providing they buy a ticket in advance. Finally, he revealed that a Fans Forum has been set up for Tuesday April 23, for which himself and Molby will be present. The event, which will be boadcast live on Radio Humberside, is free but all ticket, and they are available from Boothferry Park.

8/4/02 - Training Pics

here. Thanks to James Richardson for the pics.

6/4/02 - Hull City 0 Luton Town 4

A total embarrassment, as Luton seemed to just decide when they wanted to score, and did so at will - 4 bloody times. Once more, a total lack of fitness, effort and enthusiasm was on show as our players demonstrated why they have flopped so badly this season. Lining up in a 4-3-3 formation, nearly every one of them produced an inept display - The only positive to come from the game was that Jan Molby will know exactly how bad we are and what work needs to be done. Most teams put in a good showing when a new manager takes charge, but most of ours showed that they simply don't care. And the sooner they leave the club, the better. After the match, Molby commented, "There weren't any positives and all aspects of our play simply weren't good enough. You look at it and ask the question what did we do well - did we defend well? You'd have to say no. Did we compete well? Again, the answer is no. Did our fitness stand up to the pace of the game? Most definitely not. It was all very poor." To read the full interview, click
