Man Of The Match: Justin Whittle: Brave, determined and strong.
We finally scored! Hull City came away with a point in a good game today at The Aggborough Stadium.
David Brown opened the scoring for the Tigers on 5 minutes. Lee Philpott crossed from the left, a defender tried to clear but sliced, and Brock parried the ball in to Brown's path for him to head home from a yard out. Cue mad celebrations.
Just as we were recovering from scoring that goal, ten minutes later, Brock and a defender got in to a mix up. The ball looped up to Kevin Francis and he hit an impressive volley in to the empty net from outside the area. Also impressive was Rodney Rowe putting on the pressure which caused the mistake. Infact, at this stage City were battling extremely well. Aswell as playing extremely well.
But as usual, worse followed...
The alarm bells started ringing when John Durnin headed against the bar. And the same player pulled one back for the Harriers minutes later. A long range shot was deflected off a City player to Durnin in the area, and he fired home.
Kidderminster continued to pressure, and drew level on half-time. Drewe Broughton ran on to a lob through from the Scott Stamp and controlled the ball well, before hitting the ball past an advancing Musselwhite in to the bottom corner.
The second half continued with no team looking likely to score. But both teams had a few chances, with City looking threatening on numerous occasions around the area, and Kidderminster having a shot shave the bar. In the end the match petered out in to a draw.
So, a good day out in a nice little stadium (especially the social clubs) and a valuable point. Lets hope we can continue in the same way in upcoming fixtures.
