Air Raid

Game-Arcade

I find this game quite addictive. You are a lone tank fighting against a horde of bombing bombers. You don't have to destroy all the planes, you just rack up as much points as possible by destroying as many bombers as you can—before they kill you! The tank can also receive special powers when you hit the colored flying boxes.
This is one of the first games I made using Screen 13. Now that I know so much more, I might make a second version. Tell me what you think!

Towers of Hanoi

Game-Puzzle

The Towers of Hanoi puzzle is a popular programming exercise given to intermediate programmers. I have made my own version—in the form of a game. The object of this game is to solve the puzzle in the least amount of time with the least number of moves—for every level, there is an absolute minimum number of moves that should be achieved. The game maintains a high score list, has options, and in-game instructions for those who don't know the puzzle.

Scenery

Graphics demo

[Scenery Screenshot] Scenery displays a landscape and the user can see it at different times of the day. The special point of this demo is the elaborate palette shifts used in the program providing a smooth crossfade-like effect as the user switches from one time to another.

Waterfall

Graphics demo

[Waterfall Screenshot] This is the first demo I have submitted to Entropy's QB+ Demo Scene. It features a waterfall simulation using a simple particle engine with motion blurring. Looks quite nice really.

A Christmas Night

Graphics & Sounds demo

This is a graphics and sounds program. The graphics features scrolling, palette shifts, and color blinking. The main graphics effects are the shifting of the picture from afternoon to dusk and the Christmas lights blinking. The picture is supplemented by Christmas carols playing in the background. The sounds are from the PC speaker so it isn't that good.

Spider's Web

Graphics demo

Here's another "minor" program that does next to nothing. Well, this one, as its name implies draws spider webs. It's actually very easy to draw one. You just have to know a bit of Trigonometry.

Wand Effect

Screen saver

Wand Effect is a screen saver that attempts to simulate the sparkles left behind by a swishing wand. The wand is not drawn, only the sparkles. :)

Mystify Your Mind Imitation

Screen saver

I wanted to see if I can "copy" the Windows screen saver as easily as I think I can, and I was right! It is very easy to imitate that screen saver. I did the first draft in under ten minutes (five for coding and five for cleaning). For my version, I added a lot of costumizable options such as the number of polygons, lines per polygon, vertices, and the like.

Contortion

Screen saver

[Contort Screenshot] One of my relatively earlier programs which was inspired by the Nirvana After Dark screen saver. The program also has a GUI for changing its settings.

June 1999 CodeX Entries

Graphics demos/ screen savers

Well, these are the entries I submitted to Tek's June 1999 CodeX Challenge. The challenge was to create a gfx demo or screensaver using only a maximum of 20 lines. And guess what? I won first place!
There are six entries all in all, and they are: Spider web, Mystify your Mind Imitation, Water Inferno, Star Streams, Ripples, and Waterfall. The Waterfall program was the one that won for me the first place award.
