To this end we are incorporating The Church of the Foursquare Gospel, the minutes of which will appear hereinafter. The audience of the Echo Park Evangelistic Association will continue to meet in their auditorium--Angelus Temple--together with and at the same times as the members of The Church of the Foursquare Gospel, the Church organization being supported by the church envelope offerings and the Echo Park Evangelistic Association supported by the loose offerings.
Twenty years ago when I entered the work, I little dreamed that there would be an association such as the Echo Park Evangelistic Association which would hold in its name, for the use of the Gospel work, buildings as beautiful and spacious as Angelus Temple and the Bible School which stands next to it. It did not occur to me that one day there would be a great church with a membership of thousands meeting in one of those buildings. Nor did it enter my mind that one day there would be hundreds of branch churches known as Foursquare Gospel Lighthouses scattered all over our own land and over lands across the sea, and governed by a parent organization known as the International Foursquare Gospel Lighthouses through which there should be put on one of the greatest programs of home extension and foreign missionary work ever attempted by any religious organization.
But I know that God has blessed His Word wherever and under whatever conditions it has gone forth, whether from a borrowed piazza with lanterns for light, whether under a great white tent, or whether in a beautiful building of concrete and steel. And I know that His blessing will rest and remain wherever His Word is proclaimed in its fullness.
Though 1928 marks the close of twenty years of service, I feel that the work is only now fairly launched, and that it is in its infancy, compared to that which we shall witness a few years hence, if Jesus tarry. For twenty years my life has been given freely in the preaching of the Foursquare Gospel and In the training of hundreds of young people to help carry on the work. I have faithfully given forth the message which God placed in my heart, whether it was in joy or sorrow, happiness or bereavement, in the midst of friends or in utter loneliness, in tent or in Temple. Those twenty years have been years of strenuous and active service. There have been storms of adversity and criticism, and many trials and tears; but there have been smiles and victories through the Lord Jesus Christ, and I would not, for the world, give up one precious experience.
There have been erected these beautiful buildings and these three great corporations have been set in order. A religious organization has been formed which has served, assisted and ministered unto thousands. My time, my strength, my personal love offerings and my very life have all been poured
