Introduction
Known as the "Crown of the Continent," Glacier National Park in Northwest Montana is one of North America's
most beautiful and stunning locations. I have spent many a happy day hiking in the park and love this part of our country! I invite the
viewer to come and drink up the fresh mountain air and see the wonderous heights that are known as Glacier Park.
This web site will tell Glacier's story and supply the reader with
some information about the park. The pictures below describe the incredible beauty of the park better than
words ever could!

A Legacy for the Future
Glacier National Park was created in 1910. The area was recognized as an important national treasure due
to its scenic beauty and also because of the many different types of wildlife that call Glacier their home. Today
it stands as one of the last ecosystems where all of the megafauna that used to inhabit North America still
exist. It represents the last bastion and stronghold of wilderness in North America. Grizzly bears, mountain
goats, and seventy other mammals as well as hundreds of bird, tree and plant species call Glacier home.
A Hiker's Paradise
With over seven hundred miles of back country trails, Glacier park is a hiker's paradise. The visitor
can hike high into the mountains and experience the beauty of the backcountry up close and personal.
