A.     EXTERNAL ACTIVITIES,

 

  1. EMPLOYERS CONFEDERATION OF THE PHIL.(ECOP)

 

1.1  Attends important/relevant monthly membership meetings or special meeting featuring important events/issues.

1.2  Attends weekly meetings of working committee conducting research & development works. FTC and the big companies were requested to be a member of at least one of the Working Committees: Committee on Labor Relations, Committee on Wages, Committee on Technology Transfer (Training & Development), etc. We politely turned down membership of FTC in the working committees in 1995, considering that meeting are held weekly in Makati which consumes enormous time.

      

  1. PHILIPPINE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (PCCI).

 

Attends monthly meetings and conferences discussing important issues relevant to FTC needs.

 

  1. PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION OF THE PHILIPPINES (PMAP).

 

Attends monthly meetings and conferences discussing important issues relevant to FTC needs. A committee member of the Educational Advisory Council of PMAP.

 

 

  1. MARIKINA VALLEY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (MVCCI).

 

FTC has already served its leadership through the former Training Director, Engr. F. Gapasin. He have turned over his accountabilities in the 1996 MVCCI election for which Mr. J. Cabungcal of Lucban Hats had taken over his position as president of MVCCI.

 

  1. Marikina Tripartite Industrial Peace Council – Chaired by the City Mayor.

 

5.1  Attends to quarterly Labor-Management Dialogues initiated by the Marikina Municipal Government,  when necessary and especially when the subject matters are relevant to be used at FTC and for training of our employees.

5.2  Attends to Special sessions when specifically requested that FTC be represented in the Labor-Management Tripartite Council. Otherwise, the President of the Business Chamber, Mr.J. Cabungcal , will represent the Management Sector in the Tripartite sessions slated for the conciliation of labor problems that are bought to the council.

  

     6.    Local Project Monitoring Committee of Marikina – Chaired by the City Mayor - - Attends implementation sessions of program of activities when FTC is requested or called upon to join socio-cultural celebrations like Marikina Day,  Labor Day, Marikina Annual Shoefest, etc.    

   

  1. KATAPAT – “BUY PILIPINO PRODUCT FIRST” Movement.

 

Although instructed to represent FTC in its monthly meetings, we only attend the very important ones. I usually send other personnel to represent FTC.

     

  1. TECHNICAL ADVISORY COUNCIL FOR MARIKINA INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (MIST).

 

8.1  Coordinates with MIST concerning the administration of students who are ON-THE-JOB Training at FTC; screens MIST graduates for employment at FTC; and sources graduates for employment at FTC.

 

  1. THE DUAL TRAINING SYSTEM ACT OF 1994 (REPUBLIC ACT NO. 7686)

 

9.1  Attends “Evaluation Sessions and Conference” requested and called by the different schools (DLSU, CCP, TIP, TUP, PUP, IETI, PSBA, NCBA, Roosevelt College, etc.)  who are sending their students to FTC for OJT on the effective implementation of Dual Training Act of 1994. SCHOOLS are to supply the theoretical aspect in the training of students, and the INDUSTRY to supply the practical aspect through ON-THE-JOB Training (OJT).

 

  1. TECHNICAL EDUCATION & SKILLS DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (TESDA- now an authority composed of the DECS, DOST, DOLE, and the former NMYC).

 

10.1          Coordinates with the Agency through the MVCCI member companies and for our personnel; trainors, supervisor, and other employees of FTC and our Sister Companies.

 

Note: 120 Supervisors, Trainors, and employee participants of FTC and sister companies (FTC 94; FF 26) were benefited in the five (5) TESDA –subsidized training programs of the MVCCI  that were conducted at the FTC Training Center in 1995.

 

10.2          Coordinates with TESDA for the accreditation of FTC instructors, trainors, and in the conduct of  “Test & Measurement” of personnel groomed for accreditation; and evaluation of skills of contestant during :National Skill Olympics” of “NCR Skills Olympics”

 

 

 

 

B.     INTERNAL ACTIVITIES:

 

1.      As the Vice-Chairman for Central Safety and Health Committee

 

1.1  Conducts monthly meetings discussing relevant safety issues and monthly programs mandated by law to be taken up and disseminated.

1.2   Analyzes and decides accident investigation reports and implements appropriate measures to prevent recurrence.

1.3  Coordinates with the Bureau of Working Conditions, DOLE Survey of Establishments (DOLE-Survey) or  “Annual Report of Accidents and Illnesses” at FTC and Sister Companies in the Marikina Complex.          

1.4  Assist in the safety programs of our other sister companies like AB, FF, N and others.

1.5  Department of Labor and Employment, Bureau of Working Conditions (DOLE-BWC) accredited Occupational Safety and Health Practitioner (OSH Practitioner).

1.5.1        Responsible in implementing and complying with the provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS) including the development of safety and health programs of the Company.

1.5.2        To be present during scheduled safety inspection by authorized government agents.

1.5.3        To prepare and submit all the required reports by DOLE-BWC.

1.5.4        Heads the investigation of all accidents in the company.

1.6  Department of Science and Technology, Philippine Nuclear Research Institute DOST-PNRI accredited Radiological Health and Safety Officer (RHSO).

1.6.1        An overall RHSO responsible in the effective implementation of the Radiation Safety Program and compliance with the applicable Code of PNRI Regulation.

1.6.2        In-charge of importing, acquiring, receiving, transferring, assigning, using, maintaining, disposing, storing and buying of all nuclear gauges (sealed source) in the company.

1.6.3        Heads the team of Assistant RHSOs in providing supervisions to all individuals who may work in the vicinity of the nuclear gauges and assuring compliance with all the pertinent laws related to nuclear gauges.

1.6.4        Submits quarterly physical inventory to account for all nuclear gauges and devices.  Records of such inventory shall be maintained for inspection by the institute.

1.6.5        Conducts nuclear gauge leak testing.

1.6.6        Submits all nuclear survey instruments for annual calibration.

1.6.7        Repair and maintenance of all nuclear gauges.

 

2.      DOLE AND OTHER GOVERNMENT AGENCIES AND REPORTS REQUIRED

 

2.1  Attends to Semi-Annual preparation of and reviews the “Semi- Annual Performance Report on Company Level Population and Family Welfare Activities” before submission to the DOLE labor Population Office.

2.2   Attends to the preparation of and reviews the “Annual Status Report on Company Level Population and Family Welfare Activities “.

2.3  Attends to the preparation of and reviews the “Philippines Labour Flexibility   Survey  “by the Bureau of Labour and Employment Statistic, DOLE and the International Labour Organization”.

2.4  Reviews the prepare 4-months period “Occupational Wages Survey” of the DOLE in cooperation with the National Statistic Office (NSO).

2.5  Attends to the preparation of and reviews the DOLE survey of Establishments-Survey of Specific  Group of Workers (DOLE-SSGW).

2.6  Attends to the preparation of and reviews the DOLE Survey of Establishments –Survey of Specific Group of Workers/Survey on Unionism and Collective and Bargaining Agreements  (DOLE-SSGW/SUCBA), and survey by the other Government Agencies.

2.7  Attends to the preparation and reviews of the Banko Sentral Ng Pilipinas (BSP), Business Expectation  Survey  (BES) of the multi-national establishments.  Attends executive business review as per invitation of the BSP Governor.

 

3.      LTGC Property Insurers and Risk Management

 

3.1  Attends to the inspection requirements needs of property insurers lead by A. Banker Insurance and its syndicated international companies.

3.2  Disseminates to the Managers concerned recommended correction and follows up implementation as far as feasible, to achieve results.

 

4.      Government Agencies

 

4.1   Coordinates with and serves the requirement for our operation the following Government Agencies, request for inspection and correction of noted safety deficiencies in FTC and sister companies in the Marikina Complex.

4.1.1.3  DOH Sanitary Inspection Office

4.1.1.4  Marikina Waste Management Office

5.      Study Committee Chairman

 

5.1  Chairs the committee that conducts and recommends the result of studies on a wide range of management issues or policies and other company related matters as requested by Company Officers.

 

6.      Screening Committee

 

6.1  Assist in guiding the personnel staff in the screening and promotion of daily paid employees

6.2  Heads the different Examination Boards in the formulation of tests and measuring devices

6.3  Set-up gauging and assists the Personnel Manager in gauging acquired skills and experiences of monthly employees groomed for management promotion.

 

7.      Training Programs

 

7.1  Directs all training programs (technical and management) at the Training Center

7.2  Resource speaker in the training programs and on safety and other subjects in the training of Security Guards.

7.3  Conducts supervisory and other management trainings.

7.4  Updates the training curriculum of the company.

 

8.      Plant Visitors/Advertising and Promotion of FTC Products

 

8.1  Assist in the promotion of companies’ products during briefing of plant visitors from the different schools and institutions whose request for plant visits have been approved.

 

9.      Company Interviews by Researchers and Writers

 

9.1  Assists in the Company’s Public Relations Program and in the “Enhancing of our Products and Company Image”.

 

10.  Student ON-THE-JOB-TRAINING

 

10.1    Effects proper placement and reviews “Final Evaluation Ratings” of student  ON-THE-JOB Trainees for appropriate Certification.

Note:

 

The listed jobs comprise 60% of my total activities for this company.  It does not include various voluminous papers to be signed everyday. I have 50 dedicated professional people (supervisory level) under my direct supervision (all over six plants around Marikina City) which have diversified backgrounds namely; License Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics Engineers some have master’s degree, a psychologist and a mathematician. All of these personnel have accreditation in the various government agencies like me.

 

The corporate activities do not include personal memberships to other professional/technical organizations, academic activities, outside consultancy projects, and other researches done.
