Etymology and History:
Darrin is an alternate form of the name Darren. The name Darren (and its variants) is an odd case. It arose, quite suddenly, in the late fifties, for no obvious reason. One theory says that its popularity can be traced to the popular television show Bewitched, running from 1964 to 1972, featuring a character Darrin Stephens.
