Here i am going to include a list of bands and some information about them
I just started making this page, going to continue to work on this page and add to it
Metallica
- My favourite rock band, with the recent departure of their bass player, Metallica is holding auditions for a replacement, and have already some music ideas for their fourthcoming album, which i am really looking forward to!! They formed in 1981 playing small gigs in the bay area of San Franciso and have emerged as the best , most successful metal band to date. Their most popular and well known song is called "One" with more radio-friendly songs such as "Enter Sandman" "Until it Sleeps", "The Unforgiven" and "Hero of the Day", i have been a fan of them ever since i was in grade school, and i continue to be a fan, despite all their turn arounds and when they changed their style of music, they are not as heavy as landmark albums such as "And Justice for all" and "Master of Puppets". Alice in Chains
- A very good rock band, enjoyable, but some songs are sad and depressing, but alot of rock songs are the same way, they have since broke up obviously ad the lead guitarist went off to do his own thing with already 2 solo albums under his belt. With the death of lead singer of this band (Llayne Staley) overdosed on drugs, and the rest of the band members decided to call it quits. X drummer of Nirvana, and the band leader of the Foo Fighters saw Jerry Cantrell in a bar, and he says he knows exactly what he was going through, because of what happened to Kurt Cobain. Alice in Chains' Layne Staley died from a mixture of heroin and cocaine, an autopsy and toxicology report revealed Monday. Laboratory results determined the singer died April 5, according to a spokesperson for the King County medical examiner´s office, the same day fellow grunge pioneer Kurt Cobain committed suicide in 1994. Staley was found dead two weeks later, surrounded by intravenous drug paraphernalia in his Seattle apartment. The death certificate reads Staley's death resulted from "an acute intoxication due to the combined effects of opiate (heroin) and cocaine." The death was classified as "accidental." The lethal combination goes by the name "speedball" in drug circles. The same ingredients contributed to the deaths of comedian John Belushi in 1982 and actor River Phoenix in 1993.
Contributions - Layne's family has requested that contributions may be made in Layne's name to: Eastside Recovery Center, 1412 140th Place NE, Bellevue, WA 98007 Unfortunately, being part of the Seattle scene, looks like this is a tradition, other bands like this 1 from Seattle that are no more are: Nirvana, Screaming Trees and Soundgarden. Bush
- There has been alot of rivalry between this British band and arch rivals Oasis, I have seen Bush in concert once @ the Molson Amphitheatre and needless to say i was really impressed, though consecutive albums have been slumping a little bit, it is really hard for them to top the record entitled "Sixteen Stone". Although lead singer Gavin Rosdale did a song for the XXX soundtrack entitles "Adrenaline", plus getting married to No Doubt singer Gwen Steffani, and the departure of their bass player leaving, it has kind of been a jumbled up year for this band. Their last album was about as much a dissapointment as Korn's latest album "Untouchables", both bands draw a parallel, with a solid debut album, then slowly receiving less sales for albums to follow. Disturbed
- A newer metal band, and now emerged as 1 of my favourites! with hit songs like "Down with the sickness", "Voices", "The Game" and "Stupified" and with their new LP entitled "Believe" with already 2 hit songs featuing "Prayer" and the title track. This rock band is being compared to the likes of Godsmack, Fear Factory, Soulfly and Taproot. "Redemption - Armageddon - the end of the world." So says David Draiman of Disturbed about the meaning behind the video for the first single "Prayer". Conceived by David himself, the video is a modern-day retelling of the Biblical story of Job. "People need something to believe in - something to care about. Some positivity. Some hope," says David. "That's what this video's trying to achieve. That's why the album's called BELIEVE." Watch the video (which you won't see on MTV) on: LAUNCH VIDEO or on Disturbed1.com's Music section below.

Ministry
- An industrial band, when they 1st started out they were more so into techno and dance! then each album got a little bit darker and slightly heavier, and with the release of "Psalm69" and the hit single "Just one fix" it also proved to be 1 of the best metal riffs of all time, making the top 100 list, this group features only 2 guys "Al Jourgansen and Paul Barker" but this is the 1st band i have ever heard switching from dance music to speed and thrash metal, in my opinion, they are awfully talented to know both concepts of music. Static-X and Fear Factory did a cover of their single "Burning Inside", it isn't as heavy but it does sound ½ decent. The new album, Animositisomina is to be released in February and it's going to be the group's "fastest and heaviest" offering since 1992's Psalm 69.
Some sample track names:
"Animositisomina"
"Unsung"
"Crucial Bitch"
"Impossible"
"Stolen"
"The Light Pours Out" (Magazine cover)
A world tour will be under way soon after the release.

The Tea Party
- My personal favourite Canadian band, but i am really starting to like the other band off the West Coast called Nickelback, anyhow, these guys don't get much radio airplay in the states and have loads of talent and are 1 of the most under-rated rock groups I have ever listened to. I seen this band @ Arizona's and it was the most packed I have ever seen it, sold out almost immediately but I was fortunate enough to see them, alot of Americans came down to see them, from all over the country! The Tea Party is an amazing Canadian trio from Windsor Ontario. The band was formed in 1990 and consists of Jeff Burrows (precussion), Stuart Chatwood (bass/ keyboards) and Jeff Martin (guitar/ vocals). The band currently has five full-length studio albums (Splendor Solis, The Edges Of Twilight, Transmission, Triptych and The Interzone Mantras)as well as two additional CD's (Alhambra and Tangents) and an Indie release (self-titled).
The band have received much praise from fans, critics and their peers. While being accused of being too serious, the band is quite the contrary. "We take ourselves seriously, our music seriously, our fans seriously and each other seriously, so that can over shadow that we're a bunch of goofs...you know, the Tea Party McGoofs." (Jeff Burrows at the NOW! Lounge)

Creed
- Rock band from southern Florida, not really that heavy but they have a deep crisp sound, the lead singer Scott Stepp often loses his voice because he puts so much into the songs he writes. Rockers 'Queensryche' recently did a cover of that song, not as heavy and not nearly as good, but I can't really say thet did a terrible job of it. With 3 albums under their belt (My own prison, human clay, Weathered) they are most well known for hit songs such as "One" "My own prison" "My sacrafice" "One last breath" "With arms wide open" "Are you ready" and my personal favourite "Torn". Godsmack
- A really hard rock band, don't really receive too much radio airplay during the day, and for obvious reasons. They have more radio friendly songs such as "VooDoo" and "I Stand Alone". But since "I Stand Alone" they have not yet released an album, with is long awaited! that song was also featured on the Scorpion King soundtrack. Other hit songs by them include "Whatever", "Bad Religion", "Awake", "Greed" and "Keep Away". I have not had the plesaure of seeing thse guys live though i would love to!, Some people I know who have seen them say they put on a really good show, also they have a generous use of pyro's. Offspring
- A punk band compared to the likes of Green Day and NoFx, they are personally one of my favourite rock bands, probably their most popular and recognized songs are "Come Out and Play", "Self-Esteem" and "Pretty Fly" but with other hit songs like "Gone away", "Gotta Get Away", "Me and My Old lady", "Genocide","The kids Aren't Alright", "Defy You" "All I Want" and off the Batman Forever soundtrack "Smash it Up". There is talk of an early fall release or maybe sooner, I am kind of interested in hearing what their new material sounds like. But when their debut album came it entitled "Smash" it was the biggest selling record for a band on an Indie label of all time! The sales were way out there somewhere in the millions. Heres a quote from guitarist 'Noodles'
"In August we spent two weeks touring around the world. It was the first time that we literally flew around the world, flying east to Japan, then the U.K., and finally back home. The Japan shows were really fun as we shared the stage with our friends in No Doubt and NOFX. It's great to be able to watch your friends play and then hang out with them afterward. After Japan we had a couple of days off so I flew to Biarritz, France to do some surfing. I got it pretty good for about two hours on my first morning there before the wind tore it apart. The next day was flat so I just read and drank wine. The three festivals in The U.K. were awesome as always. They were at Leeds, Glasgow, and Reading. All weekend we played with NOFX again, as well as Incubus, The Prodigy, Slipknot, and even Guns-n-Roses. I decided not to check out GNR when Axel rode up in his limo with presidential-style security guys running alongside. His whole security thing such a hassle for all the other bands and crews, and such a needless scene, that I refused to give that band any of my time. By the way, did anyone catch Axel's hairdo on that MTV show a couple of months back? Real original, Huh? After the festivals we played some part at the Keraang awards in London, but I have no recollection of any of it." Click here to go to their official web site.
Nickelback
- My 2nd favourite Canadian band, plus the 1st Canadian rock band to have a #1 song and album in the United States in over 30 years ever since "The Guess Who". Their most popular song is "How You Remind Me" but the song that really broke them through was the single "Leader of Men" But of course their albums come out in Canada WAY sooner than the U.S. Songs that 102.1 The Edge in Toronto was playing, American stations were playing months later with them saying "here is new Nickelback!". Other songs include "Too Bad", "Worthy to Say", "Breathe","Never Again", "Old Enough" and from the Spiderman soundtrack, lead singer of Nickelback (Chad Kroeger) and lead singer (Josey Scott) of the rock band "Saliva" performed a song together called "Hero" which was a really big hit and was more mellow and radio friendly.
