The Musketeer (PG-13)

Mena Suvari Catherine Deneuve
Stephen Rea
Tim Roth
Justin Chambers

Another mediocre summer flick. If you enjoy the tale of the three musketeers (I do otherwise this would probably be a 5/10) then you will probably like this movie. It tells the tale of D'artagnan who as a young boy had his patents killed by the sheriff of the cardinal. He plots revenge and becomes involved with the queens helper (Mena Suvari) and falls in love. Blah Blah Blah, action, Blah  Blah, action. The plot in this movie is thin but existent and holds together the movie till the final battle sequence. The special effects are pretty good and you can hardly tell when they are blue (green now?) screening. The fight scenes, mainly the beginning and ending ones, are very cool though somewhat unrealistic. If you are looking to burn two hours then this is a very good way to do it otherwise wait to rent the video!

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (R)

A whole crapload of people from many different movies and television shows!

Right away I want to say that there is an awful lot of swearing (mainly f***) in this movie! It is definitely a Kevin Smith movie! If you enjoyed any of his previous movies (Dogma, Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, I am sure I am missing some but oh well :-) The main plot is that there is a Jay and Silent Bob movie being made in hollywood and there are a bunch of posts at www.moviepoopshoot.com about how much balls Jay and Silent Bob suck so they decide to go and stop the movie from being made! There are a WHOLE TON of great actors in this movie and it has its moments! This is a definite must see for the teenage and 20 something crowd as well as any older Kevin Smith fans! 8/10
Rat Race (PG-13)

Seth Green         Cuba Gooding Jr. Whoopie Goldberg  Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean)                    Jon Lovitz            John Cleese       Many more!

I would recommend going to see this in the theaters! There are many subtle details that can only be enjoyed with a big screen and surround sound! This great cast combines for a terrific film! There are several reoccurring themes that are absolutely hilarious! Just because there are no many exclamation marks I will add some more!!!!! Listen to the soundtrack of this movie while you are watching it! There are some crazy songs! Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy! Some some exclamation marks!!! PG-13 for crudeness I think. 8/10
Original Sin (R)

Angelina Jolie  Antonio Banderas

Basically, Angelina Jolie is hot. Period. There are almost as many plot twists in this movie are there are scenes with nudity. This is definitely not one for the kids! If you are a mature adult you would probably enjoy this movie for all of the things that make you think about what's going on! It is kinda hard to keep track of everything if you have a short attention span but otherwise it is a very cool movie! Rated R for lots of topal (is that a word?) nudity and the showing of Antonio Banderas's booty! 7/10
Rush Hour 2 (PG-13)

Jackie Chan        Chris Tucker

One word ... Funny! The dynamic duo Chan and Tucker are back in this sequel to do battle with a Triad Drug Lord! There are a lot of very funny scenes are well as some very cool action sequences. If you at all liked the first Rush Hour you will enjoy the second as much if not more than the first one! Even if you haven't seen the first one you will enjoy this movie! It is save to take your whole family to this movie. The PG-13 rating is for the action and a scene where they show a butt (oh my! not a butt!). 8/10
Planet of the Apes (PG- 13)

Charlton Heston Mark Wahlberg    Tim Roth

This movie was very similar to the original but it was also very different. If you enjoyed the first one then you will probably enjoy this one! The plot follows similar lines as the first one and the make-up effects for the apes are not much improved over the first one. Mark Wahlberg does a very good job playing the part of a hero. PG-13 for violence and sci-fi themes.

6/10

Jurassic Park 3 (PG-13)

Sam Neill        William H. Macy   Tea Leoni

It is very easy to see that this was the third movie. They tried to make it so that this movie took place chronologically between the first and second movies but that really doesn't have much bearing on the film itself. Regardless of the addition of William H. Macy to the cast this movie still bit the big one. It is blatantly racist as the only black man in the whole film is killed within the first five minutes of when they land on the island. It is rated PG-13 for sci-fi themes?? and violence. It is no worse than the first two in either of those categories but I wouldn't take young kids to it because of the nightmare factor.

2/10

The Score (R)

Marlon Brando Edward Norton Robert Deniro  Angela Basset

A very good 'heist' movie with an excellent cast! Although it is a bit predictable it is still a very good movie to watch. The 'surprise ending' is also a bit predictable but it is enjoyable none the less. It is a very good movie and the only reason it is rated R is because they use the F word for seemingly no reason. It could have easily been a PG-13 movie without losing any of its charm. Robert Deniro delivers another excellent performance as a shady character and it is great to see Marlon Brando back acting although he has changed a bit physically (lets just say he doesn't walk a whole lot and when he does he is out of breath). Overall a great movie!. 8/10
American Pie 2 (R)

Original Cast

I have been getting mixed reviews from people at work about this one. Here is my personal opinion! I thought that the original movie was much better although this one did have it's funny parts! It seemed to drag on more than was necessary and there were some boring parts. There were some very good gags but not nearly enough to fill the whole 2 hours! The movie was based in Michigan close to where I live so I was probably able to relate better to it then others. This is a great movie to go see if you are bored and have nothing better to do but don't take your kids! Rated R for strong sexual content, crude humor, language and drinking. 6/10
Black Mask (R)

Jet Li

That is one weird movie! It was dubbed over and most of the voices had a British accents! There was some cool kung fu fighting but there wasn't too much of a plot! Definitely an OK movie to rent but I wouldn't recommend buying it unless you liked Kiss of the Dragon which is somewhat similar to Black Mask! 5/10
