Eduardo Daza's Home Page - Photos in Bogota (NSES Congress) |
Bogota, the capital city of Colombia, is a big cold place (if compared with Santa Marta) located on a very high plateau in the central part of the country. In 2000, the IX National Congress of Systems Engineering Students was organized in Bogotá by La Universidad Distrital. The event was not quite what everybody expected, but it was good. Simultaneous conferences by people from several countries touched specially Linux products capabilities, and criticized (as expected) Microsoft products disadvantages. Several Linux distributions, companies and products tried to show their utility working under big nets. | |

At lunchtime most of us used to sit on the rug, while talking about how good (or bad) was the last exposition, deciding which one would be the next to see and deciding where to go after the day was over. That's my girlfriend Olga on the left. Of course, I'm the guy hugging her. Then go my friends Jose Torres and Jose Molina and some other students of my university. Olga's studying Systems Engineering at the University of Magdalena, too. |

Descending Monserrate, one of the best tourist attractions in Bogota. It's a high mountain with a big nice church surrounded by many souvenir and typical food stores on the top. From that place there's a beautiful view of the city. One can climb and descend by foot as we see in the picture (as we did). Also one can use special vehicles (there are four of them) to go up and down Monserrate. |

During my staying in Bogota, I was living at a parent's house. That's me at the garden. |

Well, that's not my car, in fact I don't have any. But I'm not the Guilty that it was right there when we wanted to take this picture in front of the house. |
