Advice for People Living with SLI
<< Skip to VISITORS' SUGGESTIONS >>
Street Lamp Interference can be a difficult problem for those afflicted with it. Any extreme emotion or stress could damage electrical and electronic equipment, and not just street lights. Computers, light bulbs, the television, the radio, and even heavy duty electrical appliances can fall victim to a SLIders bad mood, surprise, etc...
Being a SLIder myself, I must say IT SUCKS! However, we can adapt to it.
I hope this list of suggestions will help all "electric" people, both SLIders and those people who are "static magnets"

ENTER A TRANCE TO RELIEVE YOUR STRESS REGULARLY (HYPNOSIS, MEDITATION, ETC...) |
Enter a trance...it really doesn't matter how. Hypnosis, meditation, and even relaxation of any kind all work well. There are plenty of good books and web sites on self-hypnosis, and meditation, and I will add links as soon as possible.
It would probably be a good idea to make up your own post-hypnotic suggestions (they MUST suit your personality), but if you need help, e-mail me.

TRY NOT TO WORRY ABOUT YOUR UNUSUAL INFLUENCE ON EQUIPMENT |
Thinking about SLI can make things worse, especially if you are worried about your "curse". Try to realize that you are already starting to learn how to keep your ability under control, and that everything will be fine.

RELAX!! YOU'RE NOT CRAZY!! |
Paranormal events happen to everybody, but because many people have been taught to ignore or fear the paranormal, they ignore or try to minimize the paranormal, and sometimes even call those who believe "crazy", just because they don't want to believe, for various reasons. Proof is everywhere, but many ignore it and believe what they are told by the rest of society.
That's not the fault of any "electric person", and if you really are electric, you are not crazy. Stressed out, maybe, but not nuts.
Just ignore the ignorant, and try to be as positive as possible.

DON'T ABUSE YOUR ELECTRICAL POWER |
Enough said. If you have conscious control over your ability, hopefully you will know that you must use your ability responsibly, and as safely as possible. Treat others with respect, strive for peace, and don't allow anyone to corrupt your mind or soul with evil or hatred. Be careful, any form of electrical energy CAN be dangerous if handled recklessly or without concern for other people. This includes SLI and EPK as well.
One other note...please do not try to change traffic lights. You could accidentally cause serious harm, or even kill someone, if the control box malfunctions. Although most modern traffic light systems in North America and Europe are quite resistant to electromagnetic tampering, and also have reliable secondary (flashing beacon/shut down) and sometimes even tertiary (shut down in triple backup system ) backup safeguards, it's potentially dangerous. Less modern equipment could fail completely and cause a fatal accident. Please don't try.
Computerized traffic lights will also send a silent alarm to the transportation officials when attempts are made to tamper with them.
I'm sure that most people who can change traffic lights would have no problem being safe, but you will eventually attract unwanted attention to yourself when you hit one of these (and you won't know the difference).
Besides, While it may be almost impossible for the police to prosecute you, they might do nasty things like give you traffic tickets whenever they get the chance, among other nasty revenge tactics.
I am speaking from personal experience here (I was a real nuisance, and VERY lucky that I knew how to prevent the lights from malfunctioning- but I was just a kid at the time-Sorry.)
You have been warned. Please don't force a green light at the traffic lights!! Play with your TV, or something else, instead!
