Thrusts and Programs
I.
Economic Policies
As an
agricultural town, the increase in the production of our local agricultural
products will help boost the economy of our municipality. Only through
the implementation of various projects geared to answer the needs of our
farmers like farm machineries, irrigation, and other post harvest
facilities/machineries will this be realized.
Likewise the
development and promotion of indigenous products that will meet
international standards for local and international market will be promoted
to offer additional source of income to our people. We hope to accomplish such endeavor
by strengthening our cooperatives.
Among these
local products we intend to promote and develop are the charcoal
briquettes (currently being implemented in Barangay Mabini), sugar cane
by-products that includes the panocha and vinegar, and hopefully with the
Sampaguita essential oil similar of that of the Municipality of Anao.
With the
success of these livelihood projects, the people will not only be the ones
who will benefit from it but our town as well. The Local Government
Unit will help market these products thus promoting not only local products
and our municipality as well making our municipality known not only in our
country but also in the international community.
On the other hand we will continue to invite local and foreign investors to
invest in our municipality in order to provide additional jobs and income to
our people and to our municipality as well.
II.
Environmental Policies:
Care for the environment should also be considered in
relation to progress. This has been the main concern of my
administration since elected as the Local Chief Executive of this
Municipality.
As such, projects for the environment have been launched and
will continue under my administration such as our Monthly Search for Clean
and Green Barangay, and Establishments. Further, we will promote and
adopt projects that are environmentally friendly similar to that of the
Charcoal Briquette Project in Barangay Mabini.
In addition to this, we will push through for the establishment of our
Segregation and Composting Center in Barangay Tagumbao in line with our
Solid Waste Management Project that is not only environmentally friendly but
economically beneficial to our town as well. I also envision the
emergence of an eco-tourism endeavor in the Communal Forest in Mabini.
III.
Social Concerns:
Health and sanitation is one of the major concerns of my administration.
To address health and medical needs of our people, especially of those from
remote areas, we will continue with our regular medical and dental missions
to depressed barangays in order to provide free quality health and dental
services to our less privileged kababayans. Further we will improve
our health services for a healthy people – physically, mentally, and even
spiritually – an indication of a developed community.
With regards to education, our sights are set to
provide free and quality education to the poor but deserving students.
In line with this, we will continue to provide and hope to add more to our
present number scholars. Likewise, we will work for the acquisition of
computers in our public schools in order that our students be updated with
the trend of Information Technology.
Giving priority to sustainable human development is a measure
of effective governance. As we invest to the total well being of the
people, we are sure of ensuring a bright future for this municipality.
