Turkish State Railways- Early 1970s
Welcome to the fictitious world of TCDD (Turkish State Railways) of Erim Güraydın built on an HO gauge Layout
We are in early 1970s. The very years during when the diesel locomotive production has started out under License Agreements, steam power is at its best as well as we observe an increasing number of electrical locomotives and commuter trains with new electrifications in Turkey. The years that a real activation took place
We will observe this activation in Sarayçeşme (Sharaychasma) town. Sarayçeşme is a fictitious town on the İstanbul Adapazarı line. Not being a large supply depot in fact, Sarayçeşme serves as an urgent supply station for both this Haydarpaşa -Adapazarı line and for the local line . The area headquartes of TCDD is also located at the Station
The town Sarayçeşme is a developed and untypical Anatolian town with German architecture buildings lying on the Station Street. One of the two lines passing through here connects Haydarpaşa(İstanbul) to Ankara direction having the electrification completed very recently, the other one as the secondary connects the industrial area with the main route. Also the İstanbul-Ankara road passes nearby Sarayçeşme next to the Station which is located at the hills of Sarayçeşme town. The station is connected to the town center with a road tunnel.
