Mathematics Problems for 12-14 year olds

King Teti is planning to build a new pyramid. He is angry. His royal counters who are responsible for counting all of his properties and making sure he has plenty of feed stock for his animals and supplies for his building projects have run into a problem. The head royal counter has fallen ill. Prior to becoming sick, the royal counter had taken inventory of the royal bricks. The royal counter had recorded the final count of royal bricks in a secret code.

The King knew that the royal counter had recorded the number of bricks in a special sequence of numbers. However, the King is not sure which sequence the royal counter used for his code. The King needs to know the sequence because the next number in the sequence will tell him how many bricks he has in stock.

Your challenge if you decide to accept it is to:

Decipher the sequence and name the sequence used by the royal counter.

Send your solution to Teti and help him solve his problem.
