If you're willing to go a bit further, there's so much more to see when in Cairo, then just the Great Pyramids of Giza. Within the 100-km radius around Cairo, are some of the most attractive and bewildering sites in Egypt. Namely Wadi El-Natrun with its Coptic Monasteries as well as Saqqara and the remains of the ancient Pharaonic city of Memphis. All of the following sites are within no more than a two-hour ride from Cairo, and can be visited a single day-trip.
