El-Quseir

Eighty kilometers south of Safaga is the town of Quseir. Before

the construction of the Suez Canal, Quseir was a major port for

trading with Africa and the Far East. Few signs of the ancient

port remain. A large resort has been built a few kilometers from

town where the sea is crystal clear. When compared to

Hurghada, El-Quseir has little to offer. Nevertheless, snorkeling

and diving sites off the coast of Quseir are virtually untouched

and worth checking out. Diving centers in Hurghada offer a

variety of boat trips to diving sites south of Hurghada.

The sea is absolutely beautiful at Quseir, and is very suitable for swimming. You can

easily take a taxi from Hurghada to Quseir, the ride takes around an hour and a half.
