Taba,
which lies right on the Egyptian-
Israeli border, was only recently
returned to Egyptian control in
1989. It was the last part of
Sinai to be returned. There’s a
luxury five star hotel there, with
all its facilities, be it diving,
jet ski, dining,

it all off a casino. Other than
the Taba Hilton Hotel there is
nothing to Taba really. Unless you
plan to stay there, there is
absolutely no need to go. You can
cross over to the Israeli city of
Eilat from there, and hundreds of
Israelis enter Sinai from that
border each day. Buses from Cairo
to Taba run on a daily basis, and
back. Air Sinai flies twice a week
from Cairo to El Naqb airport
which is just 30 km from Taba.
