on saturday, instead of going with the rest of the group tour, a bunch of us went to Fatima, about 2 hours from Lisboa. upon arriving, i felt a bit overwhelmed, to say the least. the square is huge- must be larger than a football field! there was loud choral music blaring on speakers- i felt as if i were in heaven. people were crawling and walking on their knees on a tile walkway. one woman was dressed as the Virgen Mary. others were crying. i just was stunned.
