418. William Samuel HAYNIE
II was born on 19 Dec 1821 in Rockingham County, North Carolina. He died on
17 May 1890 in Bois D'Arc, Greene County, Missouri and was buried in Yeakley Chapel
Cemetery, Brookline, Greene County, Missouri (section A, row 7). William's gravestone
was erected by William's son George W. Haynie. William is identified in the probate
court record of his father, William Haynie, on 10 February 1869.
William moved with his mother and father to McMinn County, Tennessee before 1827.
William and his wife, Margaret, were married in Tennessee and eight of their children
were born there, including Matilda. The family moved to Greene County, Missouri
between 1856 and 1858.
William and his family were living in Center Township, Greene County, Missouri
when the 1860, 1870 and 1880 Federal Censuses were taken. In 1860 he was living
on a farm adjacent to his father's farm. In 1880, he was living near the farm
of his nephew, James M. Haynie.
The 1860 Census lists:

Children: Sarah J. age 15 born in Tennessee; William S. age 13 born in Tennessee; Elizabeth E. age 12 born in Tennessee; George W. age 10 born in Tennessee; Eliza A. age 8 born in Tennessee; Charles M. age 6 born in Tennessee; James H. age 4 born in Tennessee; Franklin M. age 1 born in Missouri; Fannie T. age 1 born in Missouri.
The 1870 Census lists:
William age 49 Farmer, born in Tennessee; wife Margaret age 44, wife (keeping House) born in Tennessee
Children: George age 21 born in Tennessee; Eliza age 18 born in Tennessee; Milton age 16 born in Tennessee; James age 14 born in Tennessee; Frank age 13 born in Missouri; Frances age 13 born in Missouri; Martha age 8 born in Missouri; Lena age 5 born in Missouri; John age 2 born in Missouri.
The 1880 Census lists:

She married Richard B. MASON.

Matilda M. HAYNIE was born on 6 Mar 1853 in McMinn County, Tennessee.
She died on 27 Aug 1853 in McMinn County, Tennessee and was buried in McMinn
County, Tennessee. Matilda is believed to be the daughter of William Samuel and
Margaret Therese Haynie; the 13th child many have searched for unsuccessfully.
Matilda was born and died while the family was living in McMinn County, Tennessee.
