William was identified in the will of his mother, Sarah Haynie. The will specified that William was to have two years of schooling out of his mother's estate, and when he reached the age of sixteen, to be bound to a trade and having the liberty to choose his master (Record Book 1747-1749, p. 272). He became an apprentice to his brother, George, on 9 February 1756, to learn the trade of a joiner.
William and his family moved to Clark County, Kentucky where both William and his wife died.
William was married to Sarah HALLEY in Aug 1767 in St. Stephen's Parish, Northumberland County, Virginia. Sarah HALLEY was born on 26 Apr 1739 in Northumberland County, Virginia and she died on 13 Nov 1809. Sarah had five sons by her first marriage.

Virginia and he died in May 1837 in Kentucky. The 1784 Virginia State census lists
a Henry Haynie with 4 whites, one dwelling- and four other buildings.

Virginia. He died about 1779.

Betsey HAYNIE was born on 17 Jun 1773 in Heathsville, Northumberland County,
