Peter Hitt was born about 1690 in Germany. He immigrated to the Virginia Colony in April 1714 and was placed at Germanna with eleven other families by Lt. Govr. Spotswood.
Peter Hitt's date of birth and place of birth has not been proven. It is known that he married a woman named "Elizabeth" and that they were the parents of six children. Because of the lack of records, there is consideralble
