Partnership with Kim Hock
Soon Kit partnered up with Yap Kim Hock, after splitting up with Soo Beng Kiang on 1995 due to some misunderstanding between the two players (according to the media). It does not take too long for the world to feel the threat from this new pair. Soon Kit, together with Kim Hock succeeded in creating a name for themselves by winning many major tournaments. Kim Hock however has to go for an early retirement after the Commonwealth games 1998 due to a nagging shoulder injury which bothers him much and Soon Kit partnered with Chong Tan Fook later. However, this pair does not stay long. Misunderstanding among Soon Kit and Tan Fook sees the result in the splitting of this pair. Kim Hock later comes back and paired up with Soon Kit and within a short time, they managed to collect enough points for them to qualify for the Sydney Olympic 2000! Well Done! And also we'll see Soon Kit-Kim Hock in action in Thomas Cup 2000! And i sincerely hope that this pair will have a good performance in the Olympic, the last and important tournament to Soon Kit.
