Last time i used to dislike badminton. I remembered whenever my father wanted to watch any badminton tournament on television, i always insisted that i wanted to watch other channels.. I began to like badminton when i was around 10-12 years old. I remembered that i used to play every saturday with friends during my primary schooldays. We were supposed to have 1 hour of extra class on Chinese language and the lesson normally starts quite late around 10:00am. My friends and i will definitely went earlier.. to have a game of badminton!
My love for badminton deepened since 1992.. and i'm sure every Malaysian pals will definitely be able to guess the reason. Yeah.. on 17 May 1992, the Malaysian team managed to regain back the Thomas Cup after 25 years! It still remains vividly in my memory how almost every Malaysian were overjoyed with the success. That's the time where i began to pay special attention to our national squad.. and that's the time too where i began to like Cheah Soon Kit, one of our Malaysian shuttler who formed a double pair with Soo Beng Kiang that time and the pair who clinched the winning point in Thomas Cup 1992.
Badminton can be considered a very old sport as it began quite long ago..before the 2nd world war. I felt ashamed that i don't know much of the history of it although i claimed that i love it very much. Although I've been liking it for years, it's only last year that i began to learn the proper and correct way of playing it. I'm now a member in my school badminton team. ^_^

I did this page to show how much i love badminton. But since my knowledge towards it is very limited, i'm sorry that i can't provide much information on it. However, you can find many useful and cool links on badminton in this page. You can get the most recent badminton news there. And meanwhile in this page of mine, i will be introducing more on my idol, the doubles pair of Cheah Soon Kit-Yap Kim Hock. I know Soon Kit is yearning for Olympic 2000 now.. and i hope his dreams will come true ^_^
And also i will put up some pictures on Thomas Cup 1998 that i got from the newspaper. When Thomas Cup was held in Hong Kong in 1998, i was in Japan and thus i can't watch the live telecast. Thanks to my family for recording it for me and sending it to me while at the same time helping me to keep the result a secret so that i can watch it in suspense.. hehe.. And also those paper clippings on Thomas Cup reports.. thanks to my mum who cut them out for me ^_^ Although we lost in the Thomas Cup, but it is said that it was the best performance as our shuttler not only showed good skill but also team unity which has been lacking for the past few years.. who ever thought that Malaysia will get into semifinals before the tournament? *grinz* Recently, our players performance has not been very good.. i hope they can buck up and show people that MALAYSIA BOLEH! ^_____^
