17 May 1992 time 12:36am.... An unforgetable moment for not only our national shuttlers, but every Malaysian out there. Malaysia regained her status as the top badminton power in the world beating Indonesia in the finals held at the Stadium Negara Kuala Lumpur.

The beutiful silver gilt throphy, "The International Badminton Championship Challenge Trophy" or rather known as "Thomas Cup" throughout the world is finally back to Malaysia after 25 years of waiting since 1967. When Cheah Soon Kit-Soo Beng Kiang defeated the Indonesian doubles, Ricky Subagja-Rexy Manaiky after three sets of games, we know that it's not a dream anymore. Thomas cup is ours! We see crowds cheering.. going wild.. and some even shed tears of happines.. and we realized how much they've been waiting for this beautiful moment!

The 1992 Thomas Cup heroes comprises of nine players, i. e. Razif Hj. Sidek, Jalani Hj. Sidek, Rashid Hj. Sidek, Foo Kok Keong, Cheah Soon Kit, Soo Beng Kiang, Kwan Yoke Meng, Rahman Hj. Sidek and Wong Ewee Mun. Our players received prizes in cash, land and other formats. This was the biggest prizes given to any athlete in the history of Malaysia.
