Artiodactyla, or cloven-hooved mammals have even numbers of toes, they include  most barn yard animals like goats, sheep and horses, pigs, cows, deer. They also include giraffes, hipopotomus and antelopes -- most of the world's species of large land mammals are indeed artiodactyls. Many living artiodactyls have well adapted features that are adaptive for life on grassy plains.
