Paleontology |
Fossils are Millions of years old. Fossils are created in sedimentary rock when an anmal dies and is covered in a thick blanket of dirt or ash. The soil then over millions of years begins to harden under great presure and heat the animal remains are hardened and a cast exactly like the organisum is made, the fossil. Over more time the soil on top of the fossil and the rock are brought to the top and the fossil is exposed. The study of fossils is Paleontology! |
