Fossils are Millions of years old. Fossils are created in sedimentary rock when an anmal dies and is covered in a thick blanket of dirt or ash. The soil then over millions of years begins to harden under great presure and heat the animal remains are hardened and a cast exactly like the organisum is made, the fossil.
