A close relitive to ammonite, Baculite is basically the same thing but is not coiled up. Baculite is very brittle and almost always breaks. Baculites are more common broke in half and sometimes have four to five bumps on the bottom of the extict cephalapod. baculites have great patterns on the shell, like an amunite. The baculite at the top corner, has no classifiying name! Some baculites have a thin layer of crust over their pattern. You can easly remove it by sanding it down. Baculite is a comon rock upon experienced collecters and other people who live in the right areas, like Baculite mesa, colarodo. |
