The Zephyr Mountains, considered to be the outer reaches of the Kingdom of
Terranotos, are also the only link the Kingdom has to the main landmass. Not as
populated as the plains or the hills, but with more people than the coastlines -
soldiers and miners mostly.
The Zephyr Mountains are the Kingdom's main source of metals, mainly gold,
silver, iron, and the occasional small pocket of mythril. The Zephyr also holds
many veins of spesix just waiting to be chipped off the side of a mountain.
Though most people prefer to enter Terranotos by boat, some still do come from
the mainland by foot or Chocobo. These people, mainly merchants too cheap to
hop a boat, come through the Valley of Wind (or just "West Valley" to the
locals). This passage exits out onto the Lake of Aquila, east of Underhole,
making it an almost direct link between Terranotos' newest hub of trade and the
mainland.
