There are, of course, numerous references to El Físico Nuclear on the web, as is fitting for a pop idol as mythic as he. The webpages listed below are only a small sampling of those available via the internet. Some are selected either for their claims to objectivity--a difficult claim to make, given the highly subjective nature of the phenomenon. Others are included because of the distance the page strays from what little is "known" about El Físico Nuclear. Pages of the latter sort are not true for all time, as is El Físico Nuclear, but are true only for a short period--but for that time they are very, very true indeed.
Many have considered the true identity of El Físico Nuclear, if there is one--that is, his true identity if that really is a mask he wears, and not merely skin coloring, a cybernetic (or organic) part which can be replaced when it becomes damaged, or a living organism which has enveloped his face and replaced his head with its own body mass. Some have guessed at his true identity, but the hypothesis that is most consistent with the known evidence is that El Físico Nuclear is none other than Stanton Friedman.
We know this because of the workings of an intrepid researcher known by the name of "Jay Jervey," who published an article in a newsgroup on UFOs, proving, irrefutably, that there is a strong possiblity that Stanton Friedman and El Físico Nuclear are one and the same. Earth shattering truth or mind-numbing idiocy? Only you can decide.
"What song the Sirens sang, or what name Achilles assumed when he hid himself among women though puzzling questions, are not beyond all conjecture." That is, of course, Sir Thomas Browne, speaking of the futility of asking certain questions. Also in this category might fall investigations into the "true" identity of El Físico Nuclear. Some would consider such a pursuit equivalent to attempting to discover Kant's Nomenon, or trying to drive to the Heavens in a U-Haul and carrying away the zodiacal signs or the Platonic Forms. Fortunately for seekers of false knowledge, then, Rey Mysterio Jr. has compiled a list of luchadors and their "true" identities. This may work for many of them, but El Físico Nuclear is after all a thing unto himself, the Act and the Word at the same time, Immovable Object and Irresistable Force, Time and Space. He is not, however, a container for the thing contained. If you were to peel away his "mask," there would be no there there. His significance, though not in the least bit shallow, is all upon the surface: the fact that there is no center, no depth, is the important point of the existence of El Físico Nuclear. Truly knowing him is not unlike discovering that the sky full of stars was merely a backdrop, ten feet above our heads...
