The earliest written history is often called the"Yahwistic history" because the author uses the divine name Yahweh. One source of this information is the book "People of a Covenant", by Flanders, Crapps, & Smith. If you check it out of the library be sure to read pages 184-186 which talks about the struggles the Israelites had with Pagan religions. Specifically the worship of Baal. The fact that Baal is Hebrew for Lord is also found in this book.

BookElohim said to Moses, "You are to tell the Israelites, "Yahweh, The Elohim of Abraham, the Elohim of Isaac and the Elohim of Jacob, has sent me unto You. This is my name for all time, and thus I am to be remembered for all generations to come." Exodus 3:15

Elohim is Hebrew for Mighty One(s). It is a plural word. It's often translated as God, because it refers to the Supreme Being. God is singular so it's not a very good translation. Besides God is how you pronounce the pagan deity Gad. Recall that Ex 23:13 said that the names of other deities are not to be heard from our lips.

BookIf you have the King James Version, they replaced Yahweh with LORD. Now consider this: It states "this is my name". Lord is not a name, it is a title. So it doesn't fit very well in this verse. Plus notice how all the letters are capitals. but not throughout the Bible. They only used all capitals where originally His Name was written. Satan's lie was, "His Name is so important, that it should be concealed to protect it". He mixes truth with lie. His Name is very important, but it should not be destroyed, rushed over, falsified, forgot, and especially not replaced by the names of other deities. Throughout Scripture it is written that"my people shall know my Name"- Jer 16:21 "They shall call on my Name"-Ro 10:13, Acts 2:21, Joel 2:32, "Praise His Name"-Ps113:8, "Pray in His Name" -John 16:23-26, "Ask in My Name",etc. Jo 16:23-26.

It is thought that originally a group of Scribes altered the name by adding vowels of the Hebrew word for "Master".The resulting word was Jehovah. Scriptures warn us that "the scribes pen is in vain" Jer. 8:18. Translators knew the difference, that is why they used Jehovah, and The LORD. If they believed Jehovah was His Name, why did they write The LORD, instead of Jehovah, (which was actually Yahweh with the falsified vowel points of the scribes)? This is the single greatest error in translation. Even though this error is known to the elders of your assemblies (priest, pastor, reverends, etc.) they continue spreading this known error. Translators of Bibles commonly put in a disclaimer, such as "We have used LORD where His Name was written, because everyone knows who the LORD is." Satan has successfully deceived all of them.

Why did this happen? Satan interfered in order to confuse the world. Only those who seek the truth will find it. This is only one of the things meant to confuse us. The Babylon of Revelations is where we now live. Babylon means confusion, and that is where the unfaithful are taken. Ezk. 17:20. Unfaithful, meaning they are not loving only Yahweh, but are committing spiritual adultery relationship.

Have I convinced you that these few verses tell us He has a name and we are supposed to be calling Him by it? Hold your breath, because His Name is written almost 7,000 times in the Bible. Nine of the times are in Exodus 20, the 10 commandments that people like to quote. Keeping His Name is one of those commandments. It is also the first thing Yahoshua taught us how to pray. "Our Father who is in heaven'hallowed be Thy Name.' In Revelations 19 it is what the great crown in heaven will say, over and over. HalleluYah (Praise ye Yah).
