So... this is kind of orange, isn't it? I had thought that it was more of a burnt brown, but no. It's orange. Ah well.
The weekend was spent rather productively. Friday, after trudging to the bus in the rain, then to the rentals' office in more rain, we bought fish and chips. We ate it at home while waiting for my uncle, who was flying in from Nova Scotia to go to a funeral. This meant that I had to sleep on the floor that night, and I woke up the next morning with what I suspect were bruised ribs. I had trouble breathing the rest of the weekend. But that was okay, cause I got to see my uncle.
Saturday, I went with my mum to Canadian Tire so we could reattach the review mirror to her Acclaim, then stole the car and took Meaghan to the mall (to buy a fancy-schmancy watch) and then to Queen Street, where I bought Birks on sale, a t-shirt, and a bunch of ribbon out of which I plan to make belts. That evening, we met Jessa, took her to dinner, then went to see Sweet Home Alabama. Cute movie.
Sunday, my mum and I tried to paint the new computer room. The problem was, I had let my mother go to the paint shop with my dad, and neither of them has any idea about colour. I recommended they buy a nice olive or sage, something boyish since the room would be mostly my dad's room. They came back with two big cans of the palest pink you've ever seen. Honestly, you wouldn't even paint a newborn girl's room this colour. It was horrendous. But we tried it anyway. We got through two walls before my mum said she didn't really like it. So we just stopped. The room is now half pale pink, half seafoam green. It's a nightmare. Fortunately, I went home that night, so they can paint it over next weekend and everything can be all tidy and clean when I go back home for Thanksgiving in two weeks.
All in all a fun and productive weekend. I'm a bit homesick now, though. And no one calls me or talks to me on MSN or ICQ. And I haven't gotten any letters. Come on, don't you love me?
