Three days ago, I decided that I would be going to Melbourne next year, and it's all that I've thought of since.

My housemate Lindz and I went to the International Fair on Tuesday, and we talked to a lovely man from La Trobe just outside of Melbourne, and we decided then and there that we would be going to Australia next year for second term (first term for them, since they start the school year in February -- those crazy Aussie freaks). This means, however, that I have to organize all my courses for the next three years, pick equivalent classes at La Trobe and then get them approved by the head of the English and History departments here, get a student visa, get accepted at La Trobe, and then go to a million prep sessions between now and November 14th. That's okay, though. It'll all be worth it once I'm in Australia.

But as I said before, this is seriously affecting my imagination, as every fantasy I have now centers around outback tours, swimming with dolphins, and hearing people say "g'day" on a regular basis. And sometimes I imagine things that aren't so terribly stereotypical.

The coolest thing, though, will be a phenomenon I like to call Perpetual Fall. See, first term here, it'll be September to December, right? In other words, fall. Then, once we get there, it'll be February to June. Which is also fall. A whole year of autumn! That has to be the best thing about doing this exchange. Now all I have to do is figure out a way that I can have Perpetual Fall every year. That would make my life complete.

Anyway, I'm going home this weekend. Gonna watch movies with my sister, go to Queen Street, see my lovely Jessa (and maybe Cait and Ni), pick up some clothes and some silk screening supplies and paint the spare room. And hopefully get my mum to make me some stovies (which is like a stew with ground beef, potatoes and onions - the Rothwell Family meal) or leek soup to bring back. But mostly, I'm just hoping to see my family and hug them every chance I get. I miss them so terribly. I'm so excited to see them. And to tell them about La Trobe.

But, mmmmm... stovies...
