Thursday, August 14th, 2003Coming in to work this morning, I passed this family in the underground. The mother, tall and blonde, was pushing one of those huge safari strollers with the palest baby you've ever seen inside. The baby must have been just a little under one year old, but he/she was sitting up staight, with a soother in his/her mouth. The father was walking along side the stroller with a breifcase, so I have no idea where they were going and what they were doing in the underground at 7:45 in the morning. It looked like they were going on a walk in the park, but there are no parks in downtown Toronto, and no reason they should have had to get up this early for anything if they have a one year old. The strangest thing about them, though, was that the father was holding the baby's hand as they walked, and all three of them were smiling (the baby around his soother, showing off pink gums on both sides). They were at the same time indescribably cute, and unendingly creepy. What a way to start the day! In other news, I am in love. The other day I decided to make a CD for a friend so I set the new iBook to burn and, thinking it would be a while, I left the room. I came back only 15 minutes later and voila, to my amazement it was already done. 15 minutes to burn a 45 minute CD. Oh, be still my heart!
