Sakura is the main character in this anime.
She used to be a normal 10 year old attending Readington elementary school...that is until she opened the clow book. When she opened the book she let all the magical cards out of the book. Kero told her she had to collect them all with the magical staff he gave her. The first series follows Sakura as she gets the clow books back. In the second series she has to turn them all into star cards before they loose their power. Sakura loves Julian very much. She lives with her dad adian and her brother Tori. In the beginning of the series she is in class 4-2

Li is from Hong kong and arrives at Readington elementary school as a transfer student. He demands the clow book from Sakura. She refuses to give it to him. They become rivals in collecting the cards. Tori, sakura's brother, doesn't like Li and often refers to him as the brat because he tried to beat up Sakura. Later on they become friends and collect the cards together. Li is also in class 4-2.

Madison is Sakura's best friend. She also goes to Readington elementary school. She makes Sakura's costumes for her when she battles the clow cards. Madison also films Sakura battling the clow cards (much to Sakura's embarrasment). And get this she can cook and get straight A's aswell. Madison is also in Sakuras class.

Kero is the guardian of the Clow book. This is his temporary form apperently his true form, Keroberos, is "super cool". Kero's favorite things are food and video games. Whenever Sakura goes out without Kero, he always asks her to bring him a present, preferably a sweet food. Kero is generally funny but when Sakura is in danger he is very serious. Kero's symbol is the sun.

Tori is Sakura's sister and Julian's best friend. He has a sixth sense and can see spirits. He frequently see's his mum. He teases Sakura but doesn't like it when anyone else picks on her. For example when Li tried to take the Clow cards from Sakura, Tori interveined and nearly got into a fight with Li, subsequently Tori hates Li for the rest of the series. In the second series Tori notices that Julian begins to disappear. He wants to tell Julian that he is not totally human but keeps getting stopped by Ruby who has a crush on him.

Julian is Tori's best friend and lives with his grandparents. he is in year 11 in Readington high school. Julian is very shy and sweet. he stops Tori bullying Sakura so much when she is around. Julian never stops eating. Julian, like Kero, is a temporary form. His true form is Yueh, although Julian does not know this until the end of series 2.

Meilin lives in Hong Kong and near Li. She is a proficient fighter but has no magic in her. She is really great at all types of pe especially gymnastics. She acts like she's Li's girlfriend and hates Sakura to begin with because she's always hanging around with Li. Meilin tries to help capture the fight card in the first episode but gets beaten up quite badly, but even after Sakura helps her she still doesn't like her. Meilin seems to think she is good at everything and is second only to Li.

Ms.Makenzie

Sakura first meets Ms. Makenzie when she nearly falls over, and Ms. Makenzie catches her. She then says to Sakura see you tomorrow. This puzzles Sakura until it turns out she is substituting for their sick maths teacher.

Eli Moon

He's a new transfer student from England. He makes friends with Sakura and her group very quickly and seems to fit in rather well. Eli's good at all the sports that he does and Li seems to resent him for it, because Eli always tells him what he is doing wrong. Unknown to Sakura and everyone else, Eli is actually Clow Reeds reincarnation, and it is him that is making the strange things happening around Readington. What are his true motives?
