Despite the fact that I am raising two young children (and a grown man!) and have a responsible job, I am able to pursue a great interest of mine - cooking. I spend many a spare moment reading cookbooks and of course, what must be the best gourmet cooking magazine (combined with travel) in Australia - Gourmet Traveler.

Some of my current "favorite" recipes include:-

• Marzipan Walnut Pound Cake - This recipe I found in the August '93 issue of Gourmet Traveler, and it is absolutely delicious. A little work, but well worth it.
• Cauliflower Soup - This recipe was given to me by Gary of Borenore, NSW. It is quick and very nourishing. Gary and his wife, are currently planting thousands of grape vines on their 100 acre property as well as working full time and bringing up two school age children. However, Gary still finds time to cook up a storm when we visit.
• Country Chicken Chowder a' la Borenore - Another recipe from Gary.
